The RH-44 is a single-engine four-seat light helicopter with a semi-rigid two-bladed main rotor, a two-bladed tail rotor, and a skid landing gear.
WHY WE CHOSE THIS HELICOPTER
We use an R 44 helicopter for flight training for the reason being it is safer than the smaller aircrafts due to the blade inertia. In the event of an engine failure, students learn how to do full-on autorotation's with wind and no wind conditions. As per Transport Canada, all students must be proficient in full on autorotation's prior to their solo flight. Although slightly more expensive; the advantages of this helicopter make up for the cost. You get the benefit of riding in the back seat at no extra cost with other students which is a great learning tool! Riding as a passenger during navigations, confines, and many more exercises allow the student to increase their flight knowledge. Students can take in a lot more when not in the hot seat. Also, you can get much longer cross country trips due to the aircraft speed, promoting more in-depth navigations. This aircraft is most likely going to be the first aircraft you will fly in today's job market. Start your career off right and learn to fly on our RH-44 helicopter today!
