THE NIGHT RATING
The helicopter night rating takes flying helicopters to the next level,
learn the skills and techniques to make you shine bright in the hours of darkness.
The course consists of 10 hours of flying at night, learning about Heliport Lighting, cockpit lighting, pre-flight inspections, psychological effects and the visual cues of flying at night. Students will also have the ability to perform cross country flights, approaches, departures and learn/perform the required simulated emergencies as part of the rating.
- Least 18 years of age
- Hold a current Category 1 or 3 Canadian Aviation Medical Exam (Find an examiner near you)
- Current Private or Commercial Helicopter Pilot License
This program does not require approval by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB). As such, the registrar did not review this program.
